WHAT IT DOES.

The shelf, the sort, the share

One

One thing at a time.

Open Sort. MoveSort shows one item you have not decided on. Choose Keep, Sell, Donate, or Let go. If you are not sure, press “Not sure yet, skip”. That item waits while you carry on with the rest.

  • KEEPComing with me
  • SELLFind a buyer
  • DONATEGive it away
  • LET GORecycle or tip

Two

Add it to the shelf.

Type what the thing is and pick a room. Add a photo from your camera or library if you want one, or choose a sample photo. A sample photo is a public picture, not a private upload of yours. A name is enough to save. Open the item later for notes, condition, size, weight, and an asking price.

  • Garden

Three

Then pack, list, or give.

Home shows how much of the shelf is sorted. Add a moving day and the countdown comes on. On each item you mark how far along it is. Keep goes from not packed, to packed, to moved. Sell goes from not listed, to listed, offer, sold, and collected, and you can type an asking price. Donate goes from not arranged, to booked, to donated. Let go is pending, then done. The counter names what is left, such as things still to list for sale or a charity drop-off still to book.

  1. Not packed
  2. Packed
  3. Moved

Four

Share the shelf.

Open Shared, type the other person’s email, and share the shelf. They need their own MoveSort account before the share will go through. They can look at the things on the shelf at that moment, including the notes and photos. They cannot change them. They will not see items you add later unless you share again. Stopping sharing takes the shelf and its photos away from them.

Search the shelf and filter by decision. If it is empty, you can load a sample shelf of public pictures to see how a move looks before your own things are on it.

QUESTIONS.

Short answers

Are the iPhone and Android apps out?

Not yet. They are coming soon. Until then, use MoveSort on the web.

What are the choices?

Keep, coming with you. Sell, find a buyer. Donate, give it away. Let go, recycle or tip. You can also leave something as not sure and skip it.

Do I have to add a photo?

No. A name is enough to save. A photo can come from your camera or library, or you can use a sample photo, which is a public picture rather than a private upload.

Can I share the list with a partner?

Yes. Share the shelf with their email. They need their own MoveSort account. They can look at the shelf as it is at that moment, and they cannot change it. Share again if you add things later. You can stop sharing.

Can I download or delete my account?

Yes. From Account you can download a copy of your shelf. You can delete a single item from that item’s page. Delete my account clears the account, the shelf, and the photos you uploaded.
